The American group Linden Lab, in charge of the development of the Internet game Second Life, has assured that their fun, which takes place in a virtual world, is reserved exclusively for adults, answering to the criticism of a French family organization.

This game, which allows players to create their own avatar and live in a virtual world where every single fantasy is allowed, has provoked the rejection of many French families, who protest in demand of protecting measures for minors.

The mentioned association was alarmed and they released a communication about it because of the pornography and casino activity of the virtual world of Second Life and they also asked for efficient technical measures that make the protection of minors possible.

Asked about this demand, a spokesman from Linden has said that the Californian society had not been contacted by the association and therefore he could not answer specifically. However, “anyhow, Second Life is a platform exclusively for adults (from 18 on) and Linden Lab makes severe rules to control de access of minors”, the group pointed out.
