The game of Craps has been around for Centuries, since some experts date its origins back to the Crusades, being influenced by French gamblers. Originally known as crapaud the game has had many modifications since then, and now, players of the modern American version question if the dices results are just a matter of luck or if there is a scientific way to roll them and win the game.
Most crap players follow their own ritual when shooting the dice, some toss the dice at a uniform arc and speed, attempting to hit the same spot on the back wall, others take their time and set the cubes in a certain configuration before they let them fly and others even kiss the cubes and dice for good luck.
Some players are questioning if this rituals have a real impact on how the dices roll or if there is a scientific way of rolling them. A promotional game at the Grand Victoria casino in the Chicago area is putting this theory to the test by launching a game called “Craps for Cash”, if a scientific method really exists for rolling the dice it’s time to put it in action.
The object of “Craps for Cash” is to make the six points (four, five, six, eight, nine and 10) on the same “hand” without rolling a seven-out and collect a bonus of $4,000 in cash.
Michael Shackleford, a gambling mathematics expert said "The probability of making all six points is one in 6,156, so the value of this to the shooter is $4,000 divided by 6,156 or 64.98 cents."
