One of the main pieces of the Tzoffey’s 1818 Auction House sale, to take place during the International Colored Gemstone Association Congress, is a fabulous backgammon set adorned with black, white and yellow diamonds. The set has been appraised in approximately one million dollars.

The board and tokens were created by Bernard Maquin and are part of a collection that includes diamond-covered chess and backgammon sets. This set in particular features 61,082 black, white and yellow diamonds that total 2071.48 carats. It took more than 10,000 hours of work to complete the game.

The Magnificent Jewels auction will present diamond and colored stone jewels as well as stones including rubies, emeralds and sapphires and larger stones like an African tsavorite of 22.23 carats.

All the items included in the auction, to be held on May 9 in Dubai, will be exhibited at the Al Murooj Rotana Hotel and Suites.
