To play craps you need a pair of perfectly
balance dices, red colored and numbered by white dots are preferred. The
shooter has to throw the both dices so they hit the wall placed by the
opposite side of the table. The inner walls are made with egg-carton foam,
that makes the dice bounce around so randomness is guaranteed.
Each time the dices are thrown is call a Roll, and the first roll is called
the “come out roll”. When a shooter fails to make a winning
roll, that’s known as “Not making the point” or “Seven
out”. If a “Seven Out” happens a new game begins with
a new shooter of course (that one would be the one who was at the left
of the previous shooter).
On the “Come out roll” the pass line wins if the shooter throws
a 7 or an 11, and the bet loses if 2, 3 or 12 is rolled (a.k.a. rolling
craps). If the shooter rolled any other number (a.k.a. Establishing The
Point), now winning or not depends on if the shooter rolls again that
same number, before rolling a 7.
Then it’s “The Puck”. It is a device which look similarly
to a hockey puck, situated on both sides of the table. On side is white,
and the other one black. The white side of the Puck is on the point till
the Shooter makes his point or “sevens out”. Black side up
means a new Come-Out roll is next.
