Craps Rules

The dice thrower’s (a.k.a. shooter) objective is
to hit a 7 or an 11 on the first time he throws the dices. If he rolls a
2, 3 or 12 that’s a loss. If a number different form 2, 3, 7, 11 or
12 is rolled on the come-out roll, so a point is established. Then the shooter
keeps throwing until he/she hits the point number or a seven. If the point
number is rolled before a seven, he/she wins, but if a seven is rolled before
the point he/she loses.
How to bet:
There are several ways of betting in carps, that can be divided into
three categories:
1. The BASIC BETS are the most popular and the easiest bets to understand.
2. The ODDS BETS are made to back you up. They can be made after the shooter
set a point up. They’re used to increase winnings, and reduce the
casino’s advantages.
3. ONE ROLL BETS are wagers which are decide on one roll of the dice as
their name says
An other variation is that players can bet on the shooter or in the house
(against the shooter)

1. BASIC BETS

We can divide the basic bets in four: made before or after the come out
roll, with two variants, betting with the shooter or against him/her.
- Pass Line Bets: bets made before the come out roll. They are for the
shooter
- Don't Pass Bets: bets made before the come out roll. They are bets against
the shooter
- Come Bets: bets made before the come out roll. They are for the shooter
- Don't Come Bets: bets made after the come out roll. They are bets against
the shooter
The only difference between Pass/Don’t Pass and Come/Don’t
Come bets is that ones are made before the come out roll, and the others
after. Both bets (Pass/Don’t Pass and Come/Don’t Come) pay
the same and have the same odds. You can also note that the point for
the Pass Line Bet is the same that is for the Come Bet.
Below, you’ll find a chart where these wagers pay are explained:

2. ODDS BETS
This sort of bets have no advantages for the house over the player. That’s
why it’s said that they are the best bets for players.
Pass Line/Come Bet Odds Bets are made after you bet on the Pass Line.
So if a Point is thrown, you can back up your bet by taking the odds on
the Point.

4 or 10
Pays 2 to 1 (a $5 bet pays $10)

5 or 9

6 or 8

Don't Pass/Don't Come Odds Bets are made after you bet
on a Don't Pass. So if a Point is thrown, you can back up your bet by
laying the odds on the Point.

Lay Bets and Buy bets are opposites. You are betting for the shooter
to roll a 7 before your a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 (lay number).

· What happens if your Lay number is rolled before a 7 ? You lose.

3. ONE ROLL BETS
These bets depend on the next roll of the dice, which decides if you
win or lose.
ONE ROLL BETS are popular because the probability of winning is higher,
due to seven outcomes can win (2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12). This wager normally
pays “even money”, and some casinos pays 2 to 1 when a 2 or
a 12 is thrown.
Any Seven Bets à you bet the next roll to be a 7 and the payoff

Eleven Bets à you are betting for the next roll to be an 11 and
the payoff is 15 to 1.
Craps Eleven (also called a Horn Bet) à you are betting that a
2, 3, 11 or 12 will be rolled. And its payoffs are:
